Did anyone else recieve the invite to Edgecombe's celebration on the third? Are you going? I can't particularly say I'm all that interested ... but I suppose it is something to do.
And there will be fireworks.
Plus as it stands it could be used as an alternative celebration for the post-NEWT levels. Which wouldn't be too terrible. I think after all this indoor studying I could use some proper socializing. Plus, I suspect my parents will make me go anyway....mother was rambling on about how the host was a seventh cousin or some such... But who cares about that, really? My main concern is whether or not it's going to be a complete bore.....

Speaking of, I'm planning a get away for all of us after the exams. Blaise has already expressed interest in Italy or Spain. If there's any particular location you'd like to throw into the pot for consideration do let me know. I was thinking we'll leave around the 9th of July and go for however long we please.

In other news I think I've finally decided on my NEWT levels to be taken: Arithmancy, Ancient Runes, Charms, and Potions. I'd decided taking the Defense Against the Dark Arts exam would be a waste of time. It's not particularly conducive to anything I'd want to do professionally, plus the time studying for that particular exam was better suited doing other things these last few weeks.

I'm so sick of going to all of these trials. The Ministry is clearly just making examples of everyone they've chosen to charge for war crimes. These two/three day trials are just for show...they're hardly real. Everyone's fate has been decided when they're given their court date. It's obvious this is just a technicality that they're doing to cover their foul attempt at herding together their scapegoats. It's disgusting.
In fact I'm more than ready to get out of here. Mothers planning a trip to our property in Cassis after Uncle Thorfinn's trial I complete my N.E.W.T's the week of the 25th. I'm so ready to just lay on the beach, shop in Paris, and not have to worry about studying anymore. My tutor is a complete slave driver. At least it's Saturday.

What N.E.W.T's are you taking? I do hope none of you are considering going back in the fall. That would be awful - for the record.
